Weltplast is among the top 5 business leaders of sustainable development in Bosnia and Herzegovina
At the ceremony held in Villa Braun in Sarajevo, the sixth generation of business leaders of sustainable development in BiH was promoted. The award for sustainable development business leaders grows every year, and this year a record 360 companies participated in the competition.
Funded by Sweden and implemented by UNDP in partnership with the Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Award for Business Leaders of Sustainable Development is held every year with the aim of promoting the efforts and engagement of the private sector in the field of sustainable development in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
As part of the UNDP program "Implementation of the Framework for the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals as a Foundation for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth in BiH", Weltplast is among the top five business leaders of sustainable development among medium-sized companies in the areas of "People" and "Resources and Environment".
Out of a total of 360 registered companies, after two rounds of evaluation by an independent group of experts, Weltplast is among the top five medium-sized companies of business leaders of sustainable development in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Due to the continuous improvement of its own sustainable practices, including the calculation and verification of CO2 emissions for the years 2021, 2022 and 2023, the preparation of non-financial reports for the years 2022 and 2023, and the transition exclusively to electricity from renewable energy sources, Weltplast found itself among the absolute leaders sustainable development in BiH in the field of "resources and environment".
In addition to the above, Weltplast continuously works to improve working conditions, such as increasing the wages of all employees far above the national average, building a new restaurant and office spaces, and introducing new ventilation and cooling systems in the plants, which reduced electricity consumption and improved working conditions. . The acquisition of new, energy-efficient machines made it possible to increase production capacity without increasing energy consumption.
In addition, the company provides continuous support to employees through an annual reward trip for annual results, special cash bonuses, and by introducing a gift package for each newborn baby in the team and by continuing new hires. A solar power plant worth a million KM was put into operation, and all the electricity consumed in Weltplast d.o.o. comes from OiE.
