Weltplast Confirmed Its Leading Role in Sustainable Business

At the award ceremony held at the Energoinvest building in Sarajevo, within the UNDP program “Implementation of the SDG Framework for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth in BiH”, Weltplast was recognized as one of the top five companies in the People category. Out of 34 finalists, the company stood out as a role model of commitment to equality, dignified working conditions, and employee development.

As one of the leading polymer processors in the region, Weltplast has for more than 40 years demonstrated that responsible business and innovation can — and must — go hand in hand. This event is becoming increasingly significant each year, and this year a record number of 484 companies participated.

“Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in every aspect of our business — from the selection of raw materials and production processes to our relationships with the local community and environmental protection. Every step we take is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With this recognition, awarded by UNDP BiH in cooperation with the Global Compact Network BiH, we want to emphasize our dedication to equality and employee development,” said Jelena Čačulović, Executive Director of Weltplast.

We believe that sustainability begins from within — with the people who are the foundation of every successful business. That is why we particularly value a safe, inclusive, and stimulating work environment where every employee has the opportunity to grow, develop, and advance. We invest in education, fair working conditions, and equality, because we know that a strong and motivated workforce is the foundation of long-term sustainability and success.

This award, funded by Sweden and implemented by UNDP in cooperation with the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH, further highlights the importance of responsible business and innovation as key to a better and safer future. Together, we are building the foundations for the sustainable and successful development of our country.
