Weltplast and Konzum BiH in the “Recycle for the Future” campaign

Weltplast is the partner and operator of the recycling process in the “Recycle for the Future” initiative run by Konzum BiH at Mercator centers. Over the next eight weeks, every Saturday in Sarajevo (Ložionička 16), Banja Luka (Borik), Mostar (Stjepana Radića 39), and Tuzla (II Korpusa Armije BiH bb), citizens can bring collected plastic waste and receive 1 BONUS MARKA (BAM 1) on their Pika Card for every 5 kg handed in. Accepted items include plastic bags and films, caps and closures, trash bags, and packaging marked PE or PP, with a special focus on plastic bags as major pollutants.

All collected material will be sorted, recycled, and turned into new products by Weltplast—most notably the Eco Welt bag, made 100% from plastic collected in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The bag will soon be available in all Konzum and Mercator stores.

“Weltplast has operated according to circular economy principles for more than 40 years. The heart of our business is our in-house recycling facility: we collect, sort, and process plastic into raw material for new products. All plastic gathered through this campaign will be recycled in our plants and turned into the Eco Welt bag. We’re proud of this partnership, which offers citizens a simple way to contribute to a cleaner, healthier environment,” said Jelena Čačulović, CEO of Weltplast.

With this project, Weltplast provides reliable recycling infrastructure and a measurable contribution to reducing waste and preserving resources. Collect your plastic waste and bring it to the nearest Mercator on Saturdays—Weltplast will turn it into new value.
