Bio program

The extent of their biodegradation is greater than 90% over a period of 180 days, and the degree of polymer disintegration is over 90% over a period of 90 days.
All products are obtained by extrusion of 100% biodegradable and bio-based composting polymers.

EcoWelt bio products consist of:

• carrier bags
• organic waste disposal bags
• freezer bags
• bags for household use

The properties of EcoWelt bio products are superior to polyethylene film, as their mechanical and physical properties are way better. We use biodegradable inks when printing products from this line, and the process itself is economical, because it reduces electricity consumption, compared to processes that include classic polyethylene. EcoWelt bio products are ideal for food packaging, especially that of frozen food.

In accordance with EU legislation

EcoWelt bio products entirely meet the requirements of Directive 2002/72/EC - (Directive 2011/10/EC) regarding polymeric materials and products which in their use come into direct contact with food. For EU countries, the EC Regulation No. 1935/2004 additionaly sets out the requirements for products that come into contact with food.

Moreover, EcoWelt bio packaging products also fully meet the requirements of the EN 13432 standard, which determines the criteria for biodegradability, composting and compost quality, in accordance with the European Directive 94/62/EC on packaging and packaging waste.
